JL Cooper CS-10

Hi everyone. I just bought an old JL Cooper CS-10 rs-232 model software controller off ebay. This is a product that was discontinued in around 1995, but was made to operate with programs such as pro-tools, seagram, etc. The reason I downloaded the Serial-Midi converter is because as this piece of equipment is an old Mac Serial device, I have no way of using it on my PC.
What I've done is spliced the 8 pin mini-din with a 9 pin d-sub, and bought a 9 pin serial to USB adapter. I have installed the drivers that came with the adapter and created a virtual COM port that this USB adapter is plugged into. This is where I need the Serial-Midi converter.
I'm running a Vista 32-bit system with SP1. When I open the Serial-Midi converter, it just displays "PORT [A]: COM3" in the dialogue box and the bottom reads "Press the number key that matches your arduino's serial port." The status bar within the program is blank. I have no idea how to operate it because number keys don't do anything within the program. Any help would be appreciated!

The message at the bottom of the screen should say "Press the letter ..." (An older version of the converter had numbers).

After choosing your settings; serial port, speed, MIDI-in and MIDI-out, the Serial Midi converter simply passes data from the serial port to the MIDI port or vise-versa.

Hope that helps.
